The BusinessObjects Enterprise SDK is used to build scalable web applications that manage and distribute reports and documents and also provide functionality for administrative and client tasks. For administrative tasks, you can use this SDK to build applications that enable administrators to gather metrics, handle security, and manage servers, users, and groups. For client tasks, you can use this SDK to build applications that enable users to browse the Enterprise Repository, export reports, and handle scheduling tasks. For example, you can build an application that authenticates users, provides a list of available reports, and allows users to export those reports to other formats such as PDF.

Note: The BusinessObjects Enterprise SDK is intended for use only in web applications, and is not supported in a thick-client or desktop application.
